Niklas 916 was bred 1989 by his owner the Emanuelsson family. Niklas sire was Irco Marco 662, who competed on international level in showjumping. The dam Liana (10) was by Lambert 589 out of Diana Ross (10) 9932 by Caracas 403-Corso 305. Niklas great grandmother Eartha Kitt (10) 8061 was placed in s-level in showjumping and was mother to two s-level jumper, Greystone and Liza Minelli.

Niklas has had a long jumping career and competed in S-level with five different riders. 1999 won Niklas and Lotta Björe the gold medal at the Swedish Championship in jumping. Niklas and Emma Emanuelsson was placed 1.50 2003. In 2004-2006 he and Nathalie Adelborg won and placed in a lots of 1.50 classes. They won a bronze medal at the Swedish Championship for Young rider 2004 and a gold medal 2005. At the European Championship for Young rider 2005 won Niklas and Nathalie a team bronze medal. In 2007 Niklas competed with both Emma Emanuelsson and Py Jägerden and was placed in 1.50 Py and Niklas was placed in 1.40 classes in 2008. In 2009 got Niklas a new rider, junior rider Alexandra Emanuelsson, they are placed in 1.30


Niklas was approved for breeding in Sweden but has only covered 48 mares 1996-2008. His offsprings has been succesfully on the showjumping arena. Nico is placed in 1.50 classes, Anna Nicole won the Swedish Breeder´s Trophy for 6-year old jumping horses and is placed in 1.40 classes, Frannie is placed in 1.40 classes, Nickolas is placed in 1.35 classes and Nikita is placed in 1.30 classes. Niklas best offspring is Nikolina, a pony, she won the Swedish Breeder´s Trophy for ponnies twice. Nikolina has won the Swedish Championship in jumping and placed 8th in the European Championship 2006.

The WBFSH's Annual Meetings 2009 will be hosted in Scandinavia and takes place on 3rd - 5th November.

 

The World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH) is a non profit federation of sport horses studbooks from around the world. The major goal of the WBFSH is to stimulate the development of sport horse breeding world wide.

A General Assembly is held annualy and Scandinavian Warmblood was asked to host and arrange 2009.

 

The General Assembly and seminars will take place partly in the city of Copenhagen, capital of Denmark, and partly at Flyinge, the Swedish National stud.

The Scandinavian Jumper Club continues its search for young promising jumping horses.

Five training sessions in losjump will be held in Rekesta, Enköping. Dates 22 oct, 3 nov, 12 nov, 23 nov and 30 nov. The training is led by Sylve Söderstrand and Lotta Björe.

Kyra Kyrklund has retired her 14-year old Swedish warmblood gelding Max (born 1995 by Master out of Aperetiffa by Alpen Fürst-Dollar, bred by Flenmo egendom). Following 7th individual place at the 2009 European Championships in Windsor, Max’s owners Kyra Kyrklund and Yvette Conn have announced his retirement from international competition.

Swedish Warmblood horses have won at least 10 individual medals and 15 team medals at European dressage Championships in 1958-2007.

Some of them are:

The stallion Briar 899 (SWB born 1991 by Magini out of Charis 21695 by Krocket-Illum, breeder Hans-Yngve Göransson) and Jan Brink (Sweden) won individual Silver 2003 in Hickstead, Great Britain, team bronze 2005 in Hagen, Germany and team bronze 2007 in La Mandria, Italy. Read more about Briar

Courage (SWB born 1973 by Ceylon out of Marinette 7584 by Varolio-Largo, breeder Owe Olsson) and Ann-Kathrin Linsenhoff (Germany) won individual Silver and team Gold 1987 in Goodwood, Great Britain and individual bronze and team Gold 1989 in Mondorf les Bains, Luxemburg.

The stallion Piaff 399 (SWB born 1958 by Gaspari out of Clodette 5159 by Ruthven-Kondor, breeder Carl-Axel Andreasson) and Liselott Linsenhoff (Germany) won both individual Gold and team Gold 1969 and 1971 in Wolfsburg, Germany. Read more about Piaff

Wolfdietrich (SWB born 1953 by Daladier xx out of Kasanette by Talisman-Ebonit, breeder Carl Herslow) and Henri Chammartin (Switzerland) won individual Gold 1963 and 1965 in Copenhagen, Denmark and team silver 1965  and team bronze 1967 in Aachen, Germany.

Widin (SWB born 1965 by Obelisk out of Avita 6764 by Idealist-Taktik, breeder Alice Nilsson) and Ulrich Lehmann (Switzerland) won team bronze 1975 in Kiew, team Silver 1977 at St Gallen, Switzerland, team bronze 1979 in Aarhus, Denmark and team Silver 1981 in Luxenburg, Austria.

Carême 1153 (SWB born 2005 by Radiator out of Chiara 28637 by Contender) bred by Caprice Horsebreeding AB won the jumping part at the 70-days stallionstest held at Stall Beschut, Schlieckau in Germany with index 133.42 Carême was placed 5th in dressage part with index 115.27 and 4d overall with index 125.66

The Swedish Warmblood stallion Asterix 694 (born 1982 by Arram 564 out of Naritza (17) 12921 by Bordeaux-Niarchos) was bred by Roland Nordqvist.

At his Swedish warmblood stallion performance test Asterix received 9-9-8 for his gaits under saddle and 42 points for his conformation. Asterix left Flyinge Stud in 1995 and has been available for breeding in North America. He has also educating amateur rider. Asterix competed 2008 with Anna Toomey in Open third level dressage classes.

After 27 years representing the Swedish Warmblood, approved stallion Asterix passed away this week. Sandy Wagner, his owner and friend for the past six years, remembers that he was "an incredible teacher." He will be dearly missed.
